"Call Me Mr. Blue"

That's the name of a song from the 50's, by the way. I thought it was appropriate.

Today I got my Skywards Blue membership. Skywards is the Emirates Air frequent flier program. I don't know when I'll fly them again, but it can't hurt to start earning miles. Plus, as a blue level (entry) member I can request a specific seat for the flight. I also can request a special meal, my favorite drink, and the newspaper of my choice for my flight. The benefits of membership seem pretty good even at the lowest level.

I'll be at the Dubai airport for a little over four hours. I don't know if I'll have enough time to go through customs though. As neat as it would be to get to visit Dubai, I'm afraid to miss my flight to Africa. The airport looks really cool though. I think I'll be able to amuse myself for a few hours looking around the shops.

  1. Hello and goeie dag,
It is Alex again, but I do not have much time. Believe it or not, but I am at the Dubai Airport. You will love Emirates Airways. You'll be in the lap of luxury, so to speak, all the way! What other major carrier offer all that in coach! Anyways, I have a friend in Morocco, who travels all through out Africa that knows everything about travel. I'll tell him to read your blog, if you fare. Post a questions about airway planes infos, or popular destinations, and he'll answer it on your comment space.

Well, anyways, I have to go.
My wife , A'ata will be wanting something for the duty- free, I'm sure

    See You Later,
    Your Friend,
    Alex

  2. This is an intriguing blog. What University in America did you say you go to? Africa is and amazing place - my favourite county in Africa is South Africa - its the most like home for me. The culture is rich there. The is dark past, combined with hopeful future, and brighter tomorrow. As I'm sure you know- apartheid once seperated people of different colour. Now, the laws have been done away with, but sadly biggots remain...

Anyways, when you are there try to make a difference!

  3. Yes, I am very excited about Emirates Air! I think that will be the most comfortable part of my trip. It will be nice because I'll be traveling for over 30 hours total!

I go to Baylor University in Waco, TX. I can't wait to get to see Africa and experience all that I can there.
