Siam Ocean World

Siam Paragon is one of Bangkok's biggest and fanciest shopping malls. It's not so far from where I live, so I go there fairly often to see a movie or go to the bookstore, but I often forget that down in the basement is a huge world-class aquarium: Siam Ocean World!

And I love aquariums!

Ocean World is a little expensive, so I've only been a time or two, but Pinky and I went recently as a New Year date.

It's really a great aquarium, and some of the decorations reflect Thai culture and folktales, like the story of the prince, the giant, and the mermaid from Koh Samet.

We even saw a couple getting married in the shark tank! She was having some trouble with her veil thought. I think maybe she should have pinned it into her hair before diving! The family and wedding photographer were standing just outside the tank.

One of my favorite parts of Ocean World is the seahorse room. They are some of my favorites.

We had a really nice time. I think it might be kind of cool to visit aquariums in different countries too. I hear that Singapore and Hokkaido, Japan have really good ones. Maybe Pinky and I will get the chance to visit those soon too.

I also really like the jellyfish, although I definitely prefer them to be behind glass...
