After coming down from Monkey Mountain, we took the Coco Bus to Vincom Plaza, a fancy shopping mall on the riverside. We had to pick up some groceries (bread, peanut butter, instant noodles), and decided to walk back along the river to the hotel. The rain had stopped, and it had become a beautiful night.

A Night on the Han River
The Han River cuts through Da Nang dividing it roughly in half. The western part of the city has the big hotels, businesses, museums, and galleries. The eastern part has the beautiful beaches and resorts. The river is spanned by several bridges, all of which are lit up at night in a remarkable display.
Da Nang is a bright and colorful city. I just can't get over how different it is than Hanoi. At night, all of the colorful lights come on over the river, and on weekends, the Dragon Bridge even breathes fire!
Da Nang is going to be a huge tourist destination in the coming years. Everybody always thinks about visiting Hanoi or Saigon, but so far, Da Nang is my favorite place in Vietnam. It's just so livable and laid back! I really want to visit again on my next visa run, especially if I can take a few days at one of the fancy beachfront resorts!
