I'll miss
Loi Krathong, the Thai "Festival of Lights", this year. I'll be back in the US during the festival.
As I was flying out of Survarnabhumi Airport, though, I got to see a mini celebration in the departure area!

There was a little exhibition area where volunteers were showing passengers how to make their own krathong to float in the river. It's a way of teaching visitors a little bit about Thai culture, especially during an important festival.

I wasn't at the airport during one of the demonstration times, so I didn't get to make my own krathong. I did get to see the cool display area that the airport had set up, though. It's not quite the same as participating myself, but it's nice that the airport is trying to encourage Thai culture.
