While burgers aren't necessarily a big part of Thai cuisine, they are pretty popular in Bangkok, especially in neighborhoods like Ari and Sukumvit, which are popular with expats.
Bangkok's Best Burger Episode 1: Fats and Angry
Searching for the best burger in Bangkok, my fiancée and I stopped in at Fats and Angry for lunch. You wouldn't expect to find a '50s diner in Bangkok, Thailand, and yet here we are!
The décor is bright and cheerful, and the walls are covered in retro posters advertising the restaurant. Fats and Angry first opened in Bangkok in 1995, but this is their first branch in Ari.
It is a super cool spot to grab lunch, and quite unexpected in Thailand!
We started with a vanilla milkshake and an order of curly fries, both of which tasted exactly as they should! I never get to eat like this, so I enjoy the rare chance for some real American junk food (not imported fast food!) every once in a while.
Then the burgers came! Since neither Pinky nor I eat beef, we both ordered pork burgers. I ordered a Mexican cheeseburger with sweet, spicy jalapeños grilled into the pork. Pinky got a Texas BBQ burger
This year, we might try to go out for a burger every month or so. Surprisingly, Bangkok has a decent number of popular and famous burger joints. Stay tuned for more!
