Just a few days after arriving in Texas, my sister asked if I wanted to go along with our mom to chaperone my little nephew's kindergarten field trip to a nearby farm and pumpkin patch.
Western Belle Farms is a family-run farm in West, Texas, about half an hour north of Waco on I-35 (not west Texas, which is a different thing entirely).
The far had a number of fun activities for the kids to enjoy - a tractor hayride, a corn maze, a zipline, slides, and pumpkin picking. It was fun to enjoy the farm and to get to spend some time enjoying the nice, warm Texas autumn. My nephew had a great time as well.
You wouldn't believe how many different types of pumpkins there are! As we were leaving, we walked through the shop to pick up a few pumpkins as fall decorations for my mom's house. They came in all sorts of different colors - green, pink, even blue!
It's nice to be back in Texas... I just wish it were a little cooler here. It's been one of the hottest Octobers on record, and the first time in memory that the state has gone almost the full month without any rain. It's been in the 90s every day.
I hope it'll cool off a little bit before Halloween. I get enough hot weather in Bangkok!
