Jao Lao Beach

It wasn't so easy to get around Chantaburi Province without a car. The old town was small enough to walk from place to place, but to get to Jao Lao Beach, we had to hire a driver.

Jao Lao Beach
Jao Lao was quiet and peaceful, a small black-sand beach over some green hills from Chantaburi Town. It was a holiday weekend, but Chantaburi isn't such a well-known province, so it wasn't crowded at all. As a matter of fact, on Monday morning, it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves!

Being so far out, and without a car, meant that we were more or less stuck at our hotel. That was fine though. To be honest, it's been kind of a busy few months, and I really just wanted somewhere to relax far away from Bangkok. And I sure got it! Plenty of sun and fresh air!

And of course, no trip to one of Thailand's seaside towns is complete without a big helping of fresh steamed crab!
