The good news: I have received a one-month emergency visa extension.
The bad news: After going to the Immigration Department and spending so many hours in close proximity to so many hundreds of people, I figured that it is probably for the best if I quarantine myself for the next two weeks.
I have temporarily moved into the Siam Palace Hotel on Pradiphat Road. It's an old but comfortable hotel with basic amenities, but it will serve me just fine. The shower isn't very hot, but the aircon is cold, the bed is big and comfy, and there is a nice minifridge. I've also got a water kettle so I can have lots of instant noodles, oatmeal, and tea.

I believe that I may very well be the only guest during this time. Tourism in Thailand is virtually nonexistent during this pandemic, so I'm basically just wandering around this huge empty hotel by myself. The staff has been great though, and very attentive. I'm actually quite comfortable here! I even have a nice, small balcony.

I'll spend two weeks here before going back home. Hopefully I stay safe and healthy after my trip to Immigration! They did a very good job protecting foreigners who had to go to get visa extensions, but it's better to be safe than sorry in this case.
