Officer in the Sovereign Military Order of Sealand
Consilio et Animus - Courage and Wisdom
I am proud and honored to share with you that His Highness Prince Michael of Sealand has seen fit to honor me with a knighthood. I am now Sir Michael, an Officer in the Sovereign Military order of Sealand!
A large cardboard package arrived for me today, and when I opened it up, I found my official documents inside.
The Sovereign Military Order of Sealand was founded in 1978 after a band of German pirates attempted to invade Sealand, a small platform off the English coast that declared its sovereignty and independence in 1967. Sealand's prince ended up capturing the Germans, necessitating the intervention of German diplomats, and evoking the United Kingdom's de facto recognition of Sealand as an independent country.
Along with an official decree inducting me into the Sovereign Military Order of Sealand, the official documents included a copy of the Sealand Code of Chivalry, which lists a pretty nice set of rules to live by.
- Sir Michael OMS, Baron of Sealand
