Mother's Day and the Bangkok Home and Garden Fair

Today is the 90th birthday of HM Queen Dowager Sirikit. It is also Thai Mother's Day!

This year, we attended the annual Bangkok Home and Garden Fair. It's hosted on the long weekend, because so many people are off of work due to the holiday. The fair is held at one of Bangkok's big convention centers, and it's an amazingly overwhelming experience.

You can get everything there, from furniture to flooring to fully-built prefab houses! If you are into DIY stuff, it's especially fun!

The fair is mostly about home goods and decorations, many of which are cool and funky... such as these Thai-style amulets made of recycled goods and these funny ceramic pots and pencil holders!

There was also an entire section all about plants and garden goods.

You could even buy an entire olive tree... although I have no idea how you'd get it transported to your garden.

There was so much to see. We spent a few hours there, and I'm not sure we saw everything at the expo.

When we arrived, we had to register our LINE accounts for some special promos and discounts. Each person that entered had a chance to win a price, and I got a free IKEA mug!

A holiday is much-appreciated!
