Siam Carnival

My wife and I recently attended Carnival Siam, a funfair, carnival, and food fair that ran for several days near the beginning of the month. We went on Halloween night (it wasn't a Halloween event, but it was something fun for us to do that night). The fair was held beneath the Rama VIII bridge which spans the Chaophraya River, and it was a super fun event!

Rama VIII bridge crosses the river between Bangkok and Thonburi, and the fair was held on the Thonburi side of the river. It took about half an hour to arrive at the carnival, and we got there just as the sun was starting to set.

We weren't there for the carnival rides, though. We had come for the food!

Here's what we had:

fried spiral-cut potatoes

fried squid eggs with spicy chili sauce

charcoal-roasted sesame quail

grilled chicken on lemongrass skewers

a rainbow grilled cheese

pineapple slushy

grilled eggs with spicy sauce

a pandan pancake

It was a really fun day, and nice to get out and see something different in the city that I hadn't done before.
