I'm getting used to the city; to taking public transportation everywhere, to the weird spicy foods, to seeing people selling bugs from street-side carts. I'm getting used to the daily monsoon rains and the flooding. The pollution doesn't bother me as much anymore, and it actually makes for some awesome sunsets.

And maybe most importantly, I'm getting used to teaching. I'm way more comfortable in a classroom than I was that first day. I like my office, I like my students, and I like all the other teachers that I work with.
We went out for Mexican food downtown on Friday to celebrate our one month anniversary in Thailand. You can find pretty much any food you want in Bangkok, you just have to be prepared to spend a little more if you aren't eating Thai food. I spent as much on a pulled pork quesadilla as I did going to and from Koh Larn last weekend (which is still not a lot). Basically, if you want American food though, you have to spend American prices. That's why I'll be sticking with street food or Toni's for a few days.
Speaking of Koh Larn though, I didn't write a second part to my blog post about my trip because I realized that it would be pretty boring. Once we got to the island we just sat around for a while eating watermelon on the beach. It was awesome, just not a lot to read about. We took the ferry back to the mainland, ate at an Italian place in Pattaya for dinner, went to sleep, and came back to Bangkok on Sunday after playing with a beach dog near our hotel for a while.
After a month, I think everyone was ready to spend a weekend around Lat Prao. It rained on Saturday, but I was up early and took the MRT out to Lumpini Park. I've spent the day today cleaning my apartment and doing laundry. So yeah, not a lot to write about for this weekend either.
I do have some interesting things to talk about in the next few days though. Here's a preview just to keep things interesting.
Cannibalism, Arson, and Stalking: A Normal Friday in Class
There. More to follow in the coming week.
