Shot on Lomography Color400 with 1970 FujicaAbout a year ago, I visited Amphawa Floating Market. I even posted a photo gallery many months ago of a roll of black and white film I shot on that trip. I finally got around to developing this roll of color film (the same roll with the pictures of the Korean palace). Here are some color photos of a traditional Thai floating market.
Shrimp for sale! Delicious fresh seafood is grilled right on the boat.
We also visited a palm plantation next to the market. There were lots of bright, colorful areas to explore along the leafy paths.
We found these old-fashioned Thai boats at the palm plantation. They are similar to the ones that people would have used at the floating market in the past. Nowadays, the boats in the canals are bigger and motorized. The photograph itself isn't so great, but it's an interesting cultural note.
This is a traditional wooden house at the palm plantation. You can rent it out for functions such as weddings. It was empty when we passed by, however. In fact, it was so hot that day (last March - nearly the hottest part of the year) that almost nobody else was around.
It's me! I love the way that this camera can really pick up greens. I still don't know if it's the film, the lens, or a combination of both, but photos shot in color with the Fujica often turn out vibrant and with nice depth.
This photo almost looks like it's been colorized. The flowers are a bit pale, but it looks kind of old, and I like that.
Thailand really is a colorful country! I don't usually use color film, since I have a decent color digital camera in my phone, and generally use black and white when I shoot film. This camera does interesting things with color though. I ought to do more with color film.
More coming soon!
