This is a Thai spirit house. Nearly every home and shop in Thailand has its own spirit house to protect the land, property, and residents.
One of the most spectacular sights on the mountain was the "Sea of Fog" that rolled in throughout the afternoon, blanketing the valley with cloud. Often, black and white photos don't do this sort of thing justice, but I'm pleased with the depth of this image. It may not look as impressive as in real life, but what photo could?
Here's a tuk-tuk sitting by the side of the road. You'll find these auto-rickshaws zipping through traffic throughout Thailand. In many areas of the country, you won't find any metered cabs. Instead, tuk-tuks are the way to get around.
This is the view of a valley from the window at my guesthouse. Below you can see some terraced farmland and wild forest stretching out into the distance.
Chickens! This is another fairly common sight in rural Thailand. Many households out in the countryside will keep a few chickens for eggs.
