Disaster!
As temperatures in Bangkok reach up to 38°C (100°F), we are well and truly into the hot season. At least it's not as bad as up north... this week in Lampang (a city in northern Thailand), temperatures were pushing 42°C (nearly 108°F).

And of course, this is the week that my aircon finally decided to quit on me. The old aircon that had bravely been chugging away for the past three decades finally gave up, and left me in a room full of hot Bangkok air. Let me tell you, it's not easy to sleep when it's 100 + and super stuffy!
Though I'm trying to save money, an air-conditioning unit is an absolute necessity. The other day, I had to go out to buy one. Because of COVID-19, the home appliance store only had limited delivery hours, but fortunately they were able to install it just two days later. It was worth the wait.
It took the guys all morning to install the new unit, but I'm so happy now. It's been a rough couple of weeks! Now, all is good, especially since I'll be staying indoors quite a lot during the duration of the pandemic.
