I got a bike!

So I got a bicycle!

Last week my friend Greg sent me an email. A friend of his is moving back to New Zealand, and is looking to get rid of some of his stuff. Several years ago, Greg sold his friend his old bicycle, and now that the friend is moving, Greg hit me up to see if I was interested in taking it off of his hands.

It's a Trek 4300, not a new bike, but it is in great condition. I got it third-hand at a good discount, and it even came with some handy gear like a bike bag, a lock, and some lights. I'm excited to take it out on an adventure soon.

Last year I took a big 80km bike ride to a nearby province. >> https://michaeldesrosiers.blogspot.com/2020/11/cycling-to-phra-pathom-chedi-80-km.html

It was a lot of fun, and it made me want to get a bike of my own. I was really happy when this opportunity came up.

I headed down to the riverside this morning to meet up with Greg, and we went to go get the bike together. After a slight struggle fitting it into the back of a taxi, I got it back home. I'm happy to know that it can, in fact, fit inside a taxi, which means that if I ever get too tired on one of my rides, I'll be able to get back home ok!

You can expect some bike ride posts (and maybe a video or two) sometime soon! Maybe after the hot season has cooled down just a bit, though...
