I'm home!

After a year of traveling, I'm finally back home in Texas, and I'm here for a good long while. I'm so happy to be back! This year, for the first time since I moved to Thailand six years ago, I'll be celebrating Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years with my family.

This is a very happy time for me! I am still teaching my online classes, which means I'm waking up at 4:30 every morning to teach my students who live in China, but it's worth it. I can start my day with a big cup of coffee, and can enjoy an icy sunrise walk at the park near my house after I finish work for the day. I've really, really missed the cold! It's the first time I've been back in the autumn and winter, and I'm loving it!

I've also got to spend a lot of time with my parent's new dog, Clifton. He's hilarious! (And he has so much energy).

The weather is cool, but not too cold yet. I've been enjoying taking the time to sit outside by the fire reading. It's been a fun and exciting year, but it's not always been an easy one. Spending the year traveling around Asia was awesome, but quite stressful at times. I've been working so hard lately, and it's great to have some time for a real break.

Of course, the real reason that I came home (and surprised my mom!) was to celebrate Thanksgiving with my family! I love turkey, pecan pie, and all the fixings of Thanksgiving. It's one of my favorite holidays of the year! I've had some fun Thanksgivings in Bangkok, but nothing can beat being home for the holiday.

This is my blog's 600th post! The last 200 have come fast, since it's been such a crazy and exciting year. I love writing it and sharing my adventures with all my friends and family back home. I hope you all are enjoying reading about my travels as much as I love writing about them. Thanks for following my blog from time to time and always supporting me!
I don't see myself stopping this blog any time in the near future. It's become my online travel journal! I love looking back on my old posts. It keeps me accountable about recording my adventures as well.
