Last night, I finally had the chance to check out a brand-new brew pub that opened in a hotel near where I live in Bangkok.
The 1925 Brewing Co. is a small Singapore craft brewery, and this is their first location outside of Singapore.
They brew their own beers and serve them on tap, but also carry a wide range of craft beers from around Asia. To start with I had this Moonzen Moon Goddess. It's an imperial chocolate stout from Hong Kong! The beer is named after the legend of
Chang'e, the Moon Goddess from the
Mid-Autumn Festival.

The brewery was founded by a pair of Singaporean Teochew Chinese brothers in 2013, but they named their brewery 1925 in honor of their grandfather's birth year. Some of their beers is inspired by their family, like the signature "Yellow Van", named after the vehicle their grandfather drove around Singapore. Others are inspired by Chinese or Singaporean culture and legends.

It's not just a pub, though. In fact, 1925 has gained a lot of recognition for their food! Here at their first location in Thailand, they serve up fusion dishes blended from Thai and Singaporean-Chinese inspired ingredients. As a snack, we had some tiny little squids fried with chilies.

They have live music on Fridays and Saturdays, but we were just there for a beer on a Tuesday evening at 5. It was quiet and very relaxed. I'd like to go back again, though. I do like live music, and I would like to try some of the other beers on tap!
