Bangkok Life Update: A Night at the Theatre

Lately, we have been trying to be more cultured and to get out more in Bangkok. Both Pinky and I have been working and studying so hard lately, that we are trying to make more time to really take full advantage of living in a big city.

The other night, we splurged a little bit and bought tickets to the Broadway production of "The Lion King", which is in Bangkok now as part of its world tour. It's the first time the award-winning musical has come to Thailand.

I got the chance to see "The Lion King" several years ago with my mom and siblings in NYC. It was one of the most amazing spectacles that I've ever seen in my life. So when we saw that the show was coming to Bangkok, booking a ticket was an easy decision to make!

time for a musical!
We got cheap seats, of course (on the upper balcony to the left), but it didn't matter. The Muangthai Ratchatalai Theatre is so well laid-out that you can see the stage perfectly from any angle.

They had even adapted the show a bit for Thailand, adding in some funny Thai jokes..

ready for the show to start
The performance was no less amazing to see the second time, and I will gladly see it a third in the future. My girlfriend, too, had an enormous smile on her face the entire time.

It's so nice to get out a little more. Lately, it feels a lot more like I really live here. Seeing the show was a super nice diversion in the midst of an extremely busy week.
