BKK-a-Day 2.0: The return of my Photo-a-day project!

Hello, and welcome to my new project! I've been thinking a lot lately about my life here in Bangkok, and how even though some things may seem small or insignificant (like my walk to Family Mart or the canal near my apartment), they could be interesting to someone back home who wants to see what my life is like here. I will be trying to post a photo every day. As they say, a picture's worth a thousand words. I'll try to include a short caption or explanation with each post.

That's how I started my old project, https://bkkaday.blogspot.com , a daily photo project that I worked on on-and-off for a couple of months in 2013-2014. The idea was good, but I didn't have the energy or motivation to keep up with it. The old blog is still up, and you are welcome to take a look and see my (often terrible) old photos.

Most looked pretty bad, like this:

and this.

Some pictures, however, turned out pretty good, like this one.

Over the last few years, my photography skills have improved. The iPhone camera has improved a ton too. When I first arrived in Thailand, I was using an iPhone 4S. Now, I'm using an iPhone SE for most of my photography. It's still not the newest phone, but the camera is infinitely better than the older models!

A couple of weeks ago, I realized that 23 September would mark 100 days until the end of the year. Most people like starting a New Year Resolution at the beginning of the year, but I figured, why not start one at the end? I decided to revitalize my photo-a-day project for the final 100 days of 2020!

My new project is bkkaday.com. It's inspired by my old project, but hopefully will show how my photography has improved. I am going to post one photo every day for the remainder of the year.

Here's a look at the first week of my new project:

001 - The Hall of Buddhas

002 - A Morning Visitor

004 - Lord Ganesha, God of New Beginnings
