Desperate to get out of town before the end of the year, my fiancee and I spent the past week camping at Namtok Samlan National Park in Saraburi, a province just an hour and a half north of Bangkok.
It's one of the smaller national parks in Thailand, and not nearly as well known as some of the others. We enjoyed a quiet week of hiking, cooking, reading, and relaxing in the slightly chilly nature.
Namtok Samlan literally means "Three-Tiered Waterfall". The park gets its name from its primary feature, although since it's the dry season now, no water was flowing.
And of course, I brought my national park passport to collect my latest park stamp!
